LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship Announces 2019 Tournament Dates
The LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship, a full-field LPGA event in the Bay Area will return to Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, CA from April 29 – May 5, 2019. The official Tour event will host 144 of the world’s top talent in a four-day stroke-play event competing for a purse of $1.8 million. The event will open to the public on Wednesday, May 1 for the official Pro-Am and from May 2-5 for the official event rounds.
New Zealand native, Lydia Ko eliminated Minjee Lee on the first playoff hole to win the 2018 LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship. With her win, Lydia became the youngest player in the LPGA or PGA Tour History to win 15 career titles. The title was Lydia’s fifth in the state of California, joining the 2014 and 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic, 2016 Kia Classic and 2016 ANA Inspiration. The win was also Lydia’s third title at Lake Merced Golf Club.
PURSE INCREASE AT 2019 MEDIHEAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The world’s best female golfers will now compete for a higher purse, increased from $1.5 million to $1.8 million at the 2019 LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship. The announcement was made during the 2018 trophy ceremony by Oh sub-Kwon, Chairman and CEO, L&P Cosmetic Co. Ltd. The purse will further increase to $2 million in 2020.

Volunteer Registration will open on January 22 for the 2019 LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship. The event is seeking over 400 volunteers to fill roles on 20 committees including transportation, marshals and standard bearers. While some committees require golf knowledge, there are plenty of opportunities that require no golf knowledge or experience. Volunteers are encouraged to register early, as committees and shift times are filled on a first come first serve basis. Registrations can be completed through medihealchamp.com
TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR THE #MEDIHEALCHAMP
Tickets for the 2019 LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship are now available. Daily general admission tickets cost $20 and are valid for admission any one day of Tournament week. Weekly general admission tickets cost $40 and are valid all week, Thursday through Sunday. All general admission ticket holders will receive free admission to the event on Wednesday, for the Pro-Am of the Tournament. Kids, ages 17 and under, receive free general admission with a ticketed adult. Military members and veterans, along with their families receive free admission with a valid military ID.
